All About Shaliyah

Standing five feet seven inches, with jet black hair and dark brown eyes lies an alluring and socially confident woman. But do you know the real her? You think you know but you have no idea.

"Ten years from now I see myself in a big city, representing a big company or brand, maybe even being a spokesperson or reporter". Shaliyah Ty'von North, born May 20, 1995 mostly known as "Liyah" is an American female from Charleston, South Carolina. She is the daughter of Makeba Garrett and La'guardia North.

Her mom is a receptionist at a dermatologist office, father La'guardia drives truck and stepfather is a construction worker. Shaliyah attends South Carolina State University as a senior broadcasting communications major.

Following in her family's footsteps is why Shaliyah chose South Carolina State University. She is the baby of two children. Her eldest sibling is her brother whose twenty seven years old. In Shaliyah's spare time she enjoys cheering, dancing and going shopping.

Disney Pixar and adult swim are some of her favorite television programs to say the least. Her favorite musical artist is rapper J. Cole. "I listen to a lot of HipHop and R&B" said North.

Wanting to excel in everything she does, Shaliyah's biggest fear in life is losing herself. Sweet, humble and blessed are three words she'd use to describe herself.

Within her twenty two years of living North feels that life will teach you who and what is and is not important. Her future plans are to graduate and attend graduate school.

Shaliyah feels her strengths are determination and never giving up and her weaknesses are letting people get to her. Some of her short term goals is to vacation in different states across the world.

If there was one thing she could do differently in life it would be to spread love and peace to those who don't know how to love. Pay attention, stay on top of things and always be yourself would be future advice she would give other broadcasting majors. Shaliyah said being in college will teach you responsibility and how to be yourself.

Because of the hard work and determination her mom inspires her the most. "When it's all said and done I want to be remembered as the girl who always stayed true to herself and never gave up". Shaliyah now spends her time relaxing and enjoying her last year of college.
